Back by popular demand - Pirates to host "Buc Day"

The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced they have partnered with Sugardale to host the popular promotion “Buc Day” on Sunday, April 22 when the Pirates take on the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:35 p.m.  This long-time Pirates value-pricing tradition was revived in 2009 and is back this season for the fourth-straight year.

Details for Sugardale “Buc Day” are as follows:

  • There will be a limited number of one dollar tickets to the game in select sections, while supplies last.
  • There will be one dollar Sugardale hot dogs available at PNC Park general concession stands.
  • Popcorn at general concession stands will be priced at one dollar.

The Sunday afternoon contest was chosen this season to ensure families an opportunity to take advantage of the great pricing. In addition, Sunday, April 22 will be a “Kids Day” at PNC Park as the Family Fun Zone will be open on Federal Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and after the game all kids are invited to run the bases.

The Pirates will also be celebrating Earth Day during the afternoon tilt as all fans ages 14 and under will receive a “Kids Recycled Cap” courtesy of Waste Management.

For more information on “Buc Day” or to purchase tickets, fans should visit, call 1-877-893-2827 or visit the PNC Park Main Box Office.
