GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Dodgers have signed Minnesota Vikings defensive back Jarrad Page to a Minor League contract as an outfielder.
Page played college baseball at UCLA and was drafted three times by MLB teams as a center fielder but did not sigh. He participated in an open tryout at Camelback Ranch-Glendale a week ago.
After that camp, the Dodgers signed right-hand pitcher Blake Johnson and middle infielder Brandon Mims.
Page is old to be starting a professional baseball career at 27. He was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft and also played for the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
Page is six feet tall and weighs 225 pounds.
