KANSAS CITY, MO (March 5, 2012) – In anticipation of the 2012 season, the Kansas City Royals will participate in the Greater Kansas City International Auto Show scheduled for Wednesday, March 7-Sunday, March 11 at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Mo. The club’s exhibit area will feature the World’s Largest Baseball, the 1985 World Series championship trophy, Sluggerrr appearances and the opportunity to purchase Royals, MLB All-Star FanFest and Taco Bell All-Star Sunday tickets. Fans will also have the chance to meet Royals legends during exclusive autograph sessions held each day.
Single-day admission to the Auto Show is $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 8-12). No admission fee will be charged for children seven and under.
Royals sales associates will be on hand throughout the event to answer questions about Royals ticket plans. Fans can guarantee Opening Day tickets and a chance to purchase tickets to all All-Star events with the purchase of a Full Season or Half Season plan. Smaller partial plans, including a Pick 15 Plan that starts at just $165 and includes an MLB All-Star FanFest ticket, are also available to fit any budget (while supplies last).
In addition, fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for MLB All-Star FanFest, set for July 6-10 at the Kansas City Convention Center, and Taco Bell All-Star Sunday, which features the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game. Fans purchasing either MLB All-Star FanFest or Taco Bell All-Star Sunday tickets at the event will be entered into a drawing for a baseball autographed by Hall of Famer George Brett.
Royals legends, including former outfielder Brian McRae and Royals Hall of Famers John Mayberry, Jeff Montgomery and Willie Wilson, will be on hand at the Auto Show to participate in free autograph sessions. Please note that sessions are limited to the first 150 fans, and fans will be limited to one autograph per session. Sluggerrr will also be making appearances throughout the event.
The Royals Hall of Fame will have an exhibit for fans to enjoy, and the club’s 1985 World Series championship trophy will be on display during designated times. In addition, fans can take photos beside the World’s Largest Baseball, which is signed by legends of the game such as Hank Aaron, Yogi Berra, Derek Jeter, Willie Mays and Ted Williams. The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum will also have an exhibit at the event.
