ST. PETERSBURG, FL?The Tampa Bay Rays 2012 season opener at Tropicana Field on Friday, April 6, against the New York Yankees is sold out. It is the seventh consecutive season the Rays have sold out the home opener. In only two other seasons has Rays Opening Day sold out faster: 1998 (December 6) and 2009 (February 26).
All that remain are a limited number of scattered singles and obstructed view seats. Fans in attendance will receive a 2012 Rays schedule magnet presented by RE/MAX.
Tickets remain available in nearly every price category for the two remaining games in the season-opening series vs. the Yankees. On Sunday, April 8, the first 10,000 kids 14 and under will receive a Raymond Cowbell presented by Chick-fil-A as part of Family Fun Days presented by the Tampa Bay Times.
