Grambling State outlasts Alabama State in extras
Grambling State tied the game in the ninth and took advantage of three Alabama State errors in the 12th inning to forge the go-ahead rally in an 8-5 victory at the Urban Invitational Tournament on Saturday. Joe Gil Jr. drew a walk to push the go-ahead run across, and Chris Wolfe and Darren Farmer both added two-run singles.

Alabama State got all of its runs on long balls, with Manny Rodriguez lifting a two-run home run in the seventh inning and Waldyvan Estrada drilling a three-run shot in the 12th. Reliever Greg Matthews escaped jams in the 10th and 11th innings before taking the loss in the 12th.

Grambling State starter Richard Bautista worked into the eighth inning and allowed just three hits for the road team. Reliever Michael Martin got the win despite allowing Estrada's home run in the 12th, and Zach Moreau sealed the final two outs of the game to earn the save.
