“This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Tom Burgoyne, the Phillie Phanatic’s Best Friend. “Fans will embark on an adventure through the Phanatic’s homeland, which happens to be one of the most remote areas of the world. I brought my family with me last year and after a week exploring the islands and observing all the wildlife that thrives there, we have created wonderful memories that will last forever.”
Highlights of the Phillie Phanatic’s Galapagos Islands Journey include:
With the expertise of naturalists, fans will get an up close and personal look at the fearless wildlife that inhabit the Galapagos, which include giant tortoises, sea lions, penguins, marine iguanas and different bird species.
Fans will get a chance to be part of a photo session with the Phanatic and participate in several Phillies events on board the ship, all hosted by Tom Burgoyne (the Phillie Phanatic’s Best Friend) and Dave Raymond (the “original” Best Friend of the Phanatic).
Voyagers will be invited to visit a local school in the Galapagos Islands with the Phanatic, and be a part of a “Be a Phanatic About Reading” assembly.
Fans can participate in several different explorations on the islands – including hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, or simply relaxing aboard ship.
