Mariners minor league player Carmichael suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Seattle Mariners Minor League catcher Christian Carmichael has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Carmichael, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Clinton LumberKings, will be effective at the start of this season.
