Winter Development Program Enters 15th Season

CLEVELAND, OH  –  The Cleveland Indians today announced the 15th edition of the Winter Development Program will begin this Monday, January 16.
 
The program runs from January 16-27 in Cleveland, Ohio and Goodyear, Arizona and serves as a finishing program for the organization’s top upper-level prospects.  The purpose of the program is to acclimate the players to Progressive Field and the city of Cleveland while training in state-of-the-art facilities.  Another highlight of the program is daily featured speakers from all walks of life who share their professional and personal experiences that are relevant to the program’s participants. Speakers this year include Team President Mark Shapiro, Manager Manny Acta, Cleveland Cavs GM Chris Grant, Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur, Terry Francona, Jason Bere, Peter Gammons, St. Ignatius Football Coach Chuck Kyle and Vanderbilt Baseball Coach Tim Corbin.
