The 2012 Seattle Mariners Caravan hits the road on Monday, January 9, with the first stops in Union Gap and Yakima. Over a three-week period (January 9-27), the Caravan will make stops in 25 communities across the Pacific Northwest from Portland to Vancouver, B.C., Tacoma to Spokane, and points in between.
At various stops on the Caravan, current and former Seattle Mariners players, announcers, and the Mariner Moose host assemblies for elementary school students and free public autograph and photo sessions.
Stops on the first week of the Mariners Caravan include Union Gap, Yakima, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Walla Walla and Tri-Cities. Scheduled to appear on Week 1 are two of the Mariners promising young pitchers, Blake Beavan and Tom Wilhelmsen, broadcaster Mike Blowers, a fan favorite during his playing days with the Mariners, and the Mariner Moose.
Other current and former Mariners scheduled to appear at Caravan stops include Chris Gimenez, Shawn Kelley, Mike Carp, Michael Saunders, Julio Cruz, Dave Valle, Rick Rizzs and Dave Sims.
The Seattle Mariners 2012 Caravan Week 2 stops include Tacoma, Lacey, Olympia, Centralia, Portland and Longview.
Caravan Week 3 stops are Everett, Vancouver, BC, Bellevue and Lynnwood.
