Detroit Tigers Kids Convention scheduled for Saturday, January 21

DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers and Radio Disney AM 910 are teaming up to bring the boys of summer to the stage at the historic Fox Theatre on Saturday, January 21 for the first-ever Detroit Tigers Kids Convention. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. and the event will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. Tickets are $5 for kids 14-and-under and $10 for adults and go on sale Wednesday, January 4 at 10:00 a.m. at

"This is a unique entertainment event geared towards kids and teenagers, but will bring out the kid in all of us," said Tigers Director of Promotions Eli Bayless. "There will be a variety of programs presented on the historic Fox Theatre stage that includes participation from Tigers players, a magic show, and activities from the moment you enter the Theatre until the moment you leave."

The Detroit Tigers Kids Convention will feature a special stage show where Tigers players will participate in a theatrical introduction through the crowd, answer questions from the audience and participate in game-show style events that will be fun for fans of all ages. The stage show will be hosted by B.C. from Radio Disney AM 910, who entertains families during Kids Days at Comerica Park during the season.

The Kids Convention will also feature a magic show by Michigan-based Magician Alan Smola, an appearance by Detroit's Favorite Mascot, PAWS, as well as colorful face painting and balloon twisting activities. Fans will have the opportunity to win special prizes throughout the event and all children age 14-and-under will receive a special PAWS "Countdown to Opening Day" poster.

Fans are encouraged to bring both still and video cameras to capture the memorable program. Please note that this is a non-autograph event.
