A's Trade OF Jai Miller to Orioles for Cash Considerations
OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's traded outfielder Jai Miller to the Baltimore Orioles for cash considerations, the club announced today. Miller was designated for assignment December 23, 2011 following the Gio Gonzalez trade.
Miller went 3 for 12 (.250) with a home run and two RBI in seven games with the A's last year during a September call-up. He spent the balance of the season with Sacramento where he batted .276 with 32 home runs and 88 RBI in 110 games. The 26-year old ranked second in the Pacific Coast League in home runs, fourth in slugging (.588) and tied for seventh in extra base hits (60). Miller was originally drafted by Florida in 2003 and is a .235 career hitter in 28 games with the Marlins (2008), Kansas City (2010) and Oakland (2011).
