Bourgeois to be guest on Astroline Wednesday
Houston Astros outfielder and Houston-native Jason Bourgeois will be this week's guest on the club's popular Astroline call-in radio show on Wednesday, November 30, at 7:00 p.m. Hosted by Hall of Fame Broadcaster Milo Hamilton, Astroline is broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings at 510 Gray Street.
The show is open to the public and airs on the club's flagship station, KTRH 740 AM. Listeners can call into the show with questions at 713-212-5874. Fans may also send questions to Alyson Footer via Twitter at http://twitter.com/alysonfooter. Astroline is also streamed live at www.astros.com. Archived broadcasts from this year's shows will also be available on the team's website.
Bourgeois hit .294 (70x238) with 11 extra-base hits, 31 stolen bases and 16 RBI in 93 games for the Astros this season. He led all of Major League Baseball with a .396 (40x101) average against left-handed pitchers (min. 100 PAs) and ranked ninth in the National League in steals. Bourgeois, a graduate of Forest Brook High School in Houston, is also the founder of Jason Bourgeois Youth Sports, Inc., a non-profit organization that aims to help provide inner-city youth with uniforms and equipment in the Houston area.
Hamilton began his Hall of Fame radio career as a disc jockey on the Armed Forces Radio during Thanksgiving week in 1945. The 2012 season will be his 28th season with the Astros and his 59th year broadcasting Major League Baseball.
Wednesday's Astroline is the second of 18 scheduled shows during its five-month run leading into the 2012 baseball season, and the program is broadcast each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The program will move to Florida in March when the Astros report to Spring Training in Kissimmee, FL.
Astroline, presented by Budweiser, features interviews, news, and information on the Houston Astros. The show features a different guest each week, ranging from current and former Astros players to front office personnel.
