Ottavino, the Cardinals 1st round selection in the June 2006 Free-Agent Draft (30th overall), compiled a 7-8 record with a 4.85 ERA in 26 appearances (25 starts) with Memphis this season and finished second on the team with 141.0 innings pitched. He ranked in the Top 10 among Cardinals minor leaguers in games started (T2nd), innings pitched (6th), strikeouts (120, 8th) and strikeouts per nine innings (7.66, 10th).
