SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced their 2012 Spring Training schedule, in what will be the club’s 19th spring in Peoria, Ariz.
Padres’ pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Peoria on Sunday, February 19 with their first workout scheduled for Monday, February 20. Position players are scheduled to report on Friday, February 24 with the club’s first full-squad workout on Saturday, February 25. The team will begin its 32-game spring schedule with the annual charity game on Sunday, March 4 against the Seattle Mariners at the Peoria Sports Complex.
The Padres will also play two exhibition games this spring, both against the Kansas City Royals. The first game will be played at Petco Park on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:05 p.m. PT. The second game will be held Wednesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. PT at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore, Calif., home of the Padres’ Single-A California League affiliate. The club will then return home to open the regular season against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park on Thursday, April 5 with a 3:35 p.m. game, the beginning of a four-game weekend series and seven-game homestand.
Tickets for all Padres games at the Peoria Sports Complex will go on sale Saturday, January 7 at 8:00 a.m. PT.
