MILWAUKEE -- The agent for reliever Matt Capps said on Monday that the right-hander is one of his most popular clients, drawing interest from such teams such as the Twins and the Mets.
Paul Kinzer said that he's been fielding quite a few calls about the free agent, including one from Twins general manager Terry Ryan, who called shortly after returning to Minnesota's front office.
"[Capps] is such a presence in the clubhouse and good for a team, and the Twins see that," Kinzer said from the Pfister Hotel, where the General Managers Meetings are being held this week.
Capps went 4-7 with a 4.25 ERA and 15 saves for the Twins last season.
Kinzer said there has been interest from several other teams, including the Mets. Capps would like to close, but Kinzer said his client is open to possibly being a setup man.
"Matt's one of my most popular guys," Kinzer said, smiling.
