Mills to be First Guest on Astroline Wednesday

Houston Astros Manager Brad Mills will be the first guest on the club's popular Astroline call-in radio show on Wednesday, November 16, at 7:00 p.m. Hosted by Hall of Fame Broadcaster Milo Hamilton, Astroline will be broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings at 510 Gray Street.

The show is open to the public and airs on the club's flagship station, KTRH 740 AM. Listeners can call into the show with questions at 713-212-5874. Archived broadcasts from this year's shows will also available on the team's website.

Mills, 54, is entering his third season as the Astros manager after being named to the post on October 27, 2009. Mills has spent 30-plus years in professional baseball as a player, coach and manager. His previous Major League coaching stints include time with the Red Sox (2004-09) as bench coach, the Expos (2003) as bench coach and the Phillies (1997-2000) as first base coach. While with Boston, Mills was a part of two World Series Championship teams (2004, 2007). Mills, a 17th-round pick of the Expos in 1979, hit .256 with a home run and 12 RBI in 106 career games in parts of four seasons in the Major Leagues with the Expos (1980-83).

Hamilton began his Hall of Fame radio career as a disc jockey on the Armed Forces Radio Network during Thanksgiving week in 1945. The 2012 season will be his 28th season with the Astros and his 59th year broadcasting Major League Baseball.

Wednesday's Astroline is the first of 18 scheduled shows during its five-month run leading into the 2012 baseball season, and the program is broadcast each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The program will move to Florida in March when the Astros report to Spring Training in Kissimmee, FL.

Astroline, presented by Budweiser, features interviews, news, and information on the Houston Astros. The show features a different guest each week, ranging from Astros players to front office personnel.
