Bourgeois to host first charity golf tournament

On Friday, Astros outfielder and Houston native Jason Bourgeois will host the first Annual Jason Bourgeois Youth Sports Golf Classic at the Hermann Park Golf Course in Houston, TX.

Proceeds from the event, which is scheduled to begin with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start, will benefit Jason Bourgeois Youth Sports, Inc., a foundation that raises dollars to purchase equipment and uniforms for inner city youth baseball programs.

Fellow Astros Chris Johnson and Bud Norris and Diamondbacks outfielder and Houston native Chris Young are scheduled to participate in the tournament. Bourgeois, who was named a High School All-American by Baseball America while attending Forest Brook High in Houston in 2000, hit .294 for the Astros in 2011 with 31 stolen bases in 93 games.
