Reds mourn death of Bob Forsch

Bob Forsch, who pitched most of his 16-year Major League career with the St. Louis Cardinals, died last night at the age of 61.

For the last 3 seasons, he was the pitching coach for the Cincinnati Reds' Class A rookie league affiliate in Billings.

Reds President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Walt Jocketty said, "The Reds family and all of baseball mourn the passing of Bob Forsch. He spent his entire life in baseball and touched many people both inside and outside the game. Over the last few seasons, he played an important part in the development of our young players. Our baseball operations staff and the players he touched will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate and baseball families."
