DENVER -- The December trade between the Rockies and Indians that sent Jamey Carroll to Cleveland was completed on Thursday.
The Indians sent right-handed pitcher Sean Smith to the Rockies as the player to be named later. Smith, 24, will join Triple-A Colorado Springs. He has made four starts so far this season for Triple-A Buffalo, going 0-1 with a 4.00 ERA and 20 strikeouts.
Smith has spent his entire career with Cleveland since being selected in the 16th round of the 2001 First-Year Player Draft. He's 44-31 with a 3.84 ERA in 137 Minor League games, including 126 starts.
