Only 16 home games remain for the 2017 regular season! After a long road trip, the Phillies are returning to Citizens Bank Park this week, and will lead off with a three-game series against the Miami Marlins (September 12-14). Below are the top five things to know.

  1. Phillies celebrate Roberto Clemente Day on Tuesday. Plus, Cameron Rupp honored on-field as Phillies' nominee for the 2017 MLB Roberto Clemente Award.

On Tues., Sept. 12, 2017, the Phillies will honor catcher Cameron Rupp for being their 2017 nominee for MLB's prestigious Roberto Clemente Award prior to the 7:05 p.m. game versus the Marlins. Being presented by Phillies Charities, Inc. President John Weber, this award annually recognizes a player from each club who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field. Originally known as the Commissioner's Award, it was renamed in 1973 in honor of Hall of Famer and 15-time All-Star Roberto Clemente, who died on New Year's Eve 1972 during a humanitarian mission to assist earthquake victims in Nicaragua.

Also, as part of the Phillies celebration of Clemente's legacy, the Roberto Clemente Day logo will appear on the bases and official dugout lineup cards, and there will be a special tribute video played at the ballpark. That night's salute is also part of Major League Baseball's Hispanic Heritage Month recognition.
