MIAMI -- Minor Leaguers Jhan Marinez and Osvaldo Martinez are part of the compensation for former White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, who agreed to a contract with the Marlins this week.
According to MLB.com's prospect watch, Marinez is ranked fourth in the Marlins' organization and Martinez is sixth.
Marinez, a 23-year-old right-hander, finished the season in Double-A Jacksonville. He went 3-8 with a 3.57 ERA and three saves in 56 games. He struck out 74 and walked 42 in 58 innings.
Martinez, a 23-year-old shortstop, hit .245 with three homers and 26 RBIs in 88 games with Triple-A New Orleans this year. He made his Major League debut as a September callup last season. In 66 big league at-bats, he has hit .258 with three RBIs.
The Marlins also acquired Minor League right-hander Ricardo Andres from the White Sox to complete the trade.
