Texas Rangers activate RHP Tyson Ross from disabled list

OF Ryan Rua optioned to Round Rock

The Texas Rangers today announced that right-handed pitcher Tyson Ross has been activated from the 10-day disabled list and will start Saturday's game versus Houston.

To make room for Ross, OF Ryan Rua has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

Ross was placed on the DL on July 24 with a blister on his right index finger. He made two rehab starts for Double-A Frisco, going 1-1 with a 2.31 ERA (3 ER/11.2 IP) and 4 BB/10 SO. Ross is 2-2, 7.52 (27 ER/32.2 IP) in seven starts with Texas this season. His last start for the Rangers was a no decision on July 23 at Tampa Bay (3.2 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 4 ER).

Rua had not appeared in a game for Texas since his July 31 recall from Round Rock. Overall, he is hitting .202 with three homers and 11 RBI in 44 games for Texas in 2017.
