Martin, 27, was recalled by the Mariners as the "26th man" for game 2 of a doubleheader on Sunday (8/6) at Kansas City. He was returned to AAA Tacoma following the game. He made his first appearance of 2017 with Seattle on Sunday, allowing 4 runs (3 earned runs) on 5 hits and 2 walks over 2.0 innings pitched. Prior to being recalled by the Mariners, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-hander posted a 3.78 ERA (14 ER, 33.1 IP) with 40 strikeouts and 10 walks while limiting opponents to a .266 (34x128) average against in 14 games (4 starts) with AAA Tacoma. He began the season on Tacoma's disabled list with a right forearm strain, April 13-May 31.
