LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Tigers' Opening Day sellout just got bigger.
By adding risers onto seating sections along the main concourse and creating new sections on the Pepsi Porch in right field, the club has added 778 seats to Comerica Park, bringing the stadium's capacity to 41,782 in time for Monday's season opener.
"With the unprecedented demand for Tigers tickets in 2008, we have been looking for opportunities to increase our seating capacity without impacting the aesthetics of Comerica Park," team president/general manager Dave Dombrowski said in a statement.
The seats have already been sold for Opening Day. They'll be available for all other home games on the schedule at prices ranging from $15-$25 per seat. Tickets can be purchased online at tigers.com, by phone at 888-66-TIGER, and in person at Detroit area Meijer stores and at Hockeytown Authentics in Troy.
