Orioles at the plate:
Jay Gibbons doubled and scored, and Jay Payton had a double and an RBI. Melvin Mora drove in a run with a single. Luis Hernandez reached base twice, walking each time.
Cardinals at the plate:
Skip Schumaker was the catalyst from the leadoff spot, with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Troy Glaus doubled in a run, and Albert Pujols singled and picked up his 16th RBI of the spring. Rick Ankiel singled and walked.
Orioles on the mound:
Jeremy Guthrie escaped from a first-inning jam then cruised through the next three innings before being chased in the fifth. He was charged with all the scoring in a four-run fifth, allowing a total of seven hits and one walk on the afternoon.
Cardinals on the mound:
Starter Adam Wainwright received quite a bit of help from his defense, with several outstanding plays made behind him, but still turned in a solid game. Wainwright allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits over six innings. He struck out four and walked two.
Grapefruit League records:
Orioles 9-15; Cardinals 16-10.

The Orioles will play their final road game of the Grapefruit League season on Thursday, a trek that takes them nearly three hours north to Viera, Fla. Steve Trachsel will start in that game, which is scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. ET.
