Pirates return to PNC Park for the ninth homestand of the season

The Pirates return home to PNC Park for the ninth homestand of the season as they play host to the Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres and Detroit Tigers for an eight-game stretch.

The eight-game homestand is highlighted by many activities in and around PNC Park, such as Pirates Charities Night on AT&T SportsNet and Stand Up to Cancer Night on Wednesday, August 2; a postgame Fan Jam concert featuring Chicago on Friday, August 4; and Taco Fest on Tuesday, August 8.

The Pirates scored 19 total runs in Colorado from Friday, July 21 thru Sunday, July 23, and now fans can purchase tickets for $19 off the regular price at Pirates.com/HowManyRuns for any game this homestand with the "You Score as the Bucs Score" promotion. Use coupon code SCORE.


Tuesday, August 1, 2017 - Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds (7:05 p.m.)

  • Pirates Play Ball Team of the Game: Tonight is part of the Pirates season-long initiative honoring a youth baseball/softball team(s) of the game every Tuesday home game. Tonight the Pirates will honor several of the PIAA state champions teams including: 1A West Greene Softball, 3A Central Baseball, 3A South Park Softball, 5A Greater Latrobe Baseball and 6A Hempfield Softball on the field in a pregame ceremony.
  • Pups in the Park: Fans can enjoy Bucco baseball with their pooch as the Pirates present one of 13 Pup Nights, presented by Rachael Ray Nutrish, at PNC Park. Each ticket package (1 person & 1 dog) costs just $35 with additional human tickets available for $35 each. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 - Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds (7:05 p.m.)

  • Pirates Charities Night on AT&T SportsNet: Tonight the Pirates are proud to partner with AT&T SportsNet to host the Pirates Charities Night on AT&T SportsNet at PNC Park in the Rivertowne Brewing Hall of Fame Club and on the PNC Park Riverwalk. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the telecast begins at 6 p.m. Throughout the night, fans will be able to purchase Home Run and Grand Slam Bags for $250 and $700, respectively. Each bag will include a baseball autographed by a Pittsburgh Pirates player, a baseball autographed by a Pirates alumnus, and exclusive Pirates branded items not available anywhere else. Home Run and Grand Slam Bags can be purchased beginning at 5 p.m., in-person in the Rivertowne Hall of Fame Club or on the Riverwalk, and beginning at 5:30 p.m. over the phone by calling (412) 325-4888. Bags are available from Tuesday, August 1 thru the end of the Wednesday telecast online at pirates.com/charitynight. Proceeds from the Auction will benefit organizations providing support to those living with cancer, including the Cancer Caring Center, Glimmer of Hope "Home for Hope," Lending Hearts and Our Clubhouse. Proceeds from tonight's 50/50 raffle will benefit Pirates Charities Night on AT&T SportsNet.
  • STAND UP TO CANCER NIGHT (SU2C): Tonight special ticket packages were sold as part of Stand Up To Cancer Night (SU2C) at PNC Park. Each ticket purchased through pirates.com/SU2C included a donation to SU2C, a seat in Corner Box or Infield Grandstand sections. Thursday, August 3, 2017 - Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds (7:05 p.m.)

  • ALS CEO Soak: Today, Pirates President Frank Coonelly will take part in the ALS CEO Challenge beginning at noon in PPG Plaza. Coonelly will join other area business leaders whose employees raised funds to have them get drenched by the fountains at PPG. The goal of the event is to encourage companies in and around Pittsburgh to raise money for the ALS Association Western PA Chapter. The ALS Association is the only organization leading the fight to discover a cure for ALS from all angles - through robust research, care, and public policy programs.
  • Good Grief, Charlie Brown: Tonight the Pirates will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beloved Charlie Brown with a special Charlie Brown bobblehead ticket package.   • Pirates Charities Miracle League Fantasy Camp: In partnership with Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids, Pirates Charities will host a Miracle League Fantasy Camp at the Miracle League of Western PA in Murrysville, PA today at 11 a.m. Miracle League athletes ages 18 and older will receive a customized Pirates jersey, goodie bag, and the opportunity to learn from the professionals as several Pirates alumni will serve as instructors. Groups will rotate between five different baseball skill stations where kids will have the chance to learn skills like batting, pitching, base running and more.

  • VIP Party: Tonight Pirates Charities will host a VIP (Very Important Pirate) Party for 43 students from the Watson Institute, courtesy of Pirates Charities and an anonymous donor. Each student will receive a Pirates promo bag, have the chance to watch batting practice, and enjoy a party in the Pirates Charities Suite complete with food and beverage and entertainment. The program is now in its seventh season of raising funds for Pirates Charities and The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh's center for Prader-Willi Syndrome, through donations from fans and supporters.
