Rotation hopeful Redman solid vs. Cubs

Cubs at the plate: Ronny Cedeno, battling for a spot on the bench, hit an RBI double in the sixth. Felix Pie doubled to right and scored in the third.

Rockies at the plate: Troy Tulowitzki doubled, singled and walked, and has reached in his last six plate appearances. Todd Helton and Clint Barmes each had two RBIs.

Cubs on the mound: Starter Sean Marshall struck out three in four innings, but gave up five hits and two runs, and walked two. Left-hander Carmen Pignatiello struck out two in one inning, and hasn't give up a run in seven spring games.

Rockies on the mound: Starter Mark Redman, battling for a rotation spot, gave up two runs and seven hits in five innings. He struck out three, with no walks. Closer Manny Corpas, who gave up two runs against the Cubs on Thursday, pitched a perfect inning.

Cactus League records: Cubs 10-14, Rockies 9-10.

Up next for the Cubs: The Cubs will play host to their intracity rivals, the White Sox, on Saturday at HoHoKam Park. Lefty Ted Lilly is slated to start for the Cubs, making his fourth start. In the first meeting this spring in Tucson, the White Sox beat the Cubs, 5-3. The game will be broadcast on Gameday Audio.

Up next for the Rockies: Rockies right-hander Aaron Cook will start against the D-backs at Tucson Electric Park on Saturday. The pitcher to watch will be reliever Luis Vizcaino, who threw in a Minor League game on Friday and is being asked to work back-to-back days. Vizcaino missed time early in camp with an elbow injury and is trying to catch up.
