Reds trade Salmon to Royals

SARASOTA, Fla. -- The Reds traded reliever Brad Salmon to the Royals on Wednesday for a player to be named or cash.

Salmon split last season between Cincinnati and Triple-A Louisville. In 23 big league games, the right-hander was 0-2 with a 4.13 ERA.

In camp as a non-roster player under a Minor League contract, Salmon had a 4.50 ERA in five games this spring.

The Reds have 49 players remaining in camp.
