TUCSON, Ariz. -- Rockies right fielder Brad Hawpe missed his second straight day Wednesday because of a sore left elbow, but insisted there is no cause to worry.
Hawpe's elbow showed no noticeable swelling to the naked eye. An awkward throw during Monday afternoon's game against the Diamondbacks was the culprit.
"I hurt it just a little bit, but it was not that big of a deal," Hawpe said. "It's Spring Training, and you want to take care of injuries."
Manager Clint Hurdle said Hawpe underwent an MRI that turned up no major concerns, and he'll likely miss a couple more days.
Hawpe, who hit .291 with 29 home runs and 116 RBIs last season, recently signed a three-year, $17.25 million contract with a club option for 2011.
