The White Sox reinstated right-hander Philip Humber from the 15-day disabled list prior to Chicago's game Saturday against the Tigers in Detroit.
Humber, who had been on a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Charlotte, suffered a facial contusion after he was struck above his right eye with a line drive off the bat of Cleveland's Kosuke Fukodome on Aug. 18.
He was placed on the DL the following day.
The right-hander, who is in his first season with the White Sox, allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings in one rehab start with Charlotte on Tuesday.
Humber is 8-8 with a 3.63 ERA in 23 games (21 starts) with the White Sox this year.
