Indians at the plate: Franklin Gutierrez had a double and walked twice. Infielder Jamey Carroll, a former member of the Nationals, went 0-for-3.

Nationals at the plate: Cristian Guzman had three hits with two home runs and four RBIs. Lastings Milledge, Nick Johnson, Wily Mo Pena and Ryan Zimmerman had an RBI apiece. Michael Burgess and Chris Marrero had back-to-back doubles.

Indians on the mound: Left-hander Jeremy Sowers pitched two innings and gave up six runs on seven hits. Right-hander Rick Bauer gave up a run in two innings.

Nationals on the mound: Right-hander Jason Bergmann tossed four scoreless innings and gave up just two hits. He struck out four and walked one. Dennis Tankersley and Luis Ayala pitched one inning without giving up a run.

Grapefruit League records: Indians 4-6, Nationals 6-5.

Up next: Washington return to Space Coast Stadium on Monday afternoon to play the Tigers. Game time is at 1:05 p.m. ET. Washington left-hander John Lannan will face Detroit right-hander Justin Verlander.

The Indians go to St. Petersburg, Fla., to play the Rays at 1:05 p.m. ET. Cleveland right-hander Paul Byrd will face Tampa Bay right-hander Jason Hammels.
