Tigers on the mound: In his second outing of the spring, Justin Verlander picked up where he left off in his Grapefruit League debut, tossing three scoreless innings with one hit allowed. Denny Bautista continued his torrid spring with two hitless innings, giving the non-roster right-hander five scoreless innings on two hits so far.

Grapefruit League records: Phillies 3-4, Tigers 4-3-1.

Up next: Former National League East foes Dontrelle Willis and Tom Glavine will match up on Thursday afternoon when the Tigers host the Braves at Joker Marchant Stadium. Game time is 1:05 p.m. ET. The Phillies return home with their full roster to host Tampa Bay in a 1:05 p.m. ET contest. Adam Eaton will start for the Phillies opposite James Shields.
