CLEVELAND -- Just when it seemed as though the Indians' disabled list must have been at capacity, the club added another pair of wounded Wahoos to the list on Friday.

Outfielder Michael Brantley and pitcher Josh Tomlin are the latest Cleveland additions to the 15-day DL.

Brantley has been suffering from a sore right wrist that has prevented him from playing in eight games this month. He missed the final three games of Cleveland's four-game set with Seattle at the start of the week. His addition to the DL was retroactive to Tuesday, as he played in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners.

In 114 games this season, Brantley is batting .266 with seven homers and 46 RBIs.

Tomlin, who was added to the DL with right elbow soreness, left his outing Wednesday after a career-low 4 2/3 innings, snapping a string of 37 consecutive starts of at least five frames. He allowed six runs and 11 hits, but said after the appearance that he felt fine.

Tomlin has pitched 165 1/3 innings this season after tossing a combined 180 1/3 between Cleveland and Triple-A Columbus last year. In 26 starts, Tomlin has posted a 12-7 record and 4.25 ERA.

The placement of Brantley and Tomlin on the DL cleared a pair of roster spots. Jim Thome, acquired from the Twins on Thursday for a player to be named, filled one of the openings. The Indians called up left-handed reliever Nick Hagadone to take the other spot.

Brantley and Tomlin join pitcher Carlos Carrasco, outfielders Grady Sizemore and Trevor Crowe, second baseman Jason Kipnis and designated hitter Travis Hafner on the DL. Shin-Soo Choo remains day-to-day with soreness in his left side and lower back that caused him to miss Wednesday's contest. Choo was not in Friday's starting lineup.
