The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated catcher Tony Wolters from the 10-day disabled list and have optioned catcher Dustin Garneau to Triple-A Albuquerque.
· Wolters, 24, suffered a concussion in the seventh inning May 2 at San Diego after being hit in the head by a bat on a swing …he was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list on May 3 and transferred to the 10-day disabled list on May 12 … in three rehab games with Albuquerque, he went 2-for-11 with one home run … in 17 games this season, has batted .346 (18-for-52) with three doubles, one triple, three RBI and three walks … his .346 batting average is tied for fourth in the Majors among catchers with at least 15 games played … made his Major League debut in 2016 and batted .259 (53-for-205) with 15 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 30 RBI, 21 walks and four stolen bases in 71 games. · Garneau, 29, was a member of his first career Opening Day roster … in 22 games with the Rockies this season, has batted .206 (14-for-68) with seven doubles, one home run and six RBI … his seven doubles are tied for third on the club … posted a catcher's ERA of 3.64 … in 68 games with the Rockies across three seasons (2015-17) has batted .199 (41-for-206) with 16 doubles, four home runs and 20 RBI.
