Dodgers reinstate Brandon McCarthy

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated right-handed pitcher Brandon McCarthy from the 10-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Brett Eibner to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

McCarthy, who was placed on the disabled list on May 8 with left shoulder soreness (retroactive to May 5), last pitched on April 29 against the Phillies, allowing four runs on eight hits in 5.0 innings as he did not factor in the decision in the Dodgers' 6-5 victory. In five starts this season, McCarthy has gone 3-0 with a 3.10 ERA (10 ER/29.0 IP) and has struck out 25 batters against only nine walks in 29 innings. He has held the opposition to a .245 average, including a .186 mark against righties, while posting a 1.21 WHIP.

In five games with the Dodgers this season, Eibner has gone 3-for-10 (.300) with one home run and two RBI.
