A's reinstate LHP Manaea from the DL; Option C Maxwell to Nashville

The Oakland A's reinstated left-handed pitcher Sean Manaea from the 10-day disabled list and optioned catcher Bruce Maxwell to Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.

Manaea was placed on the disabled list April 30 retroactive to April 27 with a strained left shoulder. He was 1-2 with a 5.18 ERA in five starts at the time of the injury. Manaea made one start on a rehab assignment with Nashville last Tuesday against El Paso and had a no decision in the Sounds 8-6 loss. He allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits and a walk while striking out five in 4.0 innings.

Maxwell was called up from Nashville May 4 and went 2-for-14 (.143) in seven games during his second stint with the A's. He is batting .211 in nine games overall with Oakland and is also hitting .275 with six RBI in 15 games with Nashville.
