Twins select contract of Drew Rucinski

Outfielder Danny Santana designated for release or assignment

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Drew Rucinski from Triple-A Rochester. Rucinski made six appearances (1 start) for the Red Wings, going 0-1 with a 3.48 ERA (10.1 IP, 4 ER), two walks and 13 strikeouts.

To make room for Rucinski on the 40-man roster, the Twins have designated outfielder Danny Santana for release or assignment. Santana appeared in 13 games for the Twins this season, hitting .200 (5-for-25) with one double and one home run.

Additionally, infielder Ehire Adrianza (pronounced AY-ray ay-dree-AHN-zah) has been returned from his rehab assignment and reinstated from the disabled list, taking the roster spot of Kyle Gibson. Adrianza has missed all 26 games with a right oblique strain.
