-- Number of innings during this series that ended with the Rockies holding a lead. The Diamondbacks led at the conclusion of just two innings and one of those was Game 1's first inning.
Hurdle's masterful handling of his pitching staff was seen once again, when he opted to pinch-hit for Franklin Morales with two outs and two on in the fourth inning. Pinch-hitter Seth Smith prolonged the inning with a two-run double.
Smith, who didn't make his Major League debut until Sept. 16, delivered a bloop, two-run double to shallow left in the fourth to give the Rockies their first runs and a lead they'd preserve the rest of the evening. He registered five hits in seven pinch-hit at-bats during the regular season and has two hits in four at-bats as a pinch-hitter during the postseason.
Adding to a number of defensive gems he completed throughout this series, Tulowitzki prevented potential third-inning damage with a leaping grab of a Chris Young liner that seemed destined for the left-center gap. Along with preventing at least one run with that grab, the rookie shortstop also aided the fourth-inning uprising by drawing an eight-pitch walk.

Lines of the Game
While maybe not as picturesque as the Rocky Mountain skyline, it was certainly a welcome sight to see those sold-out crowds that filled Coors Field in its early days return to celebrate these past two days with their beloved Rockies.

His three-run, fourth-inning homer ended Owings' evening and gave the Rockies comfort to work with over the final five innings. With four hits, including two homers, in his final six at-bats during this series, Holliday escaped a mini-funk and proved why he's a favorite to win the NL MVP Award this year.

After Brian Fuentes surrendered a two-out, three-run homer and a triple in the eighth, Corpas stranded Justin Upton at third with an inning-ending strikeout of Tony Clark. Corpas then completed a scoreless ninth to record the save.
"We thought we had the team to do this the entire time. Our clubhouse has always believed that we could get here. Now that we've gotten here, it's just great."

Next up: The Rockies will have to wait for the conclusion of the ALCS before knowing whether they'll face the Indians or Red Sox in the World Series, which will begin in the American League city on Oct. 24.
