Pipeline Preview: Alford riding hot streak

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:

Hitter to watch: Anthony Alford (Blue Jays' No. 3), New Hampshire at Hartford (6:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Alford enters the day with a .475/.563/.625 batting line and having hit safely in 10 of his 11 games, including seven multi-hit performances, for Double-A New Hampshire. The 22-year-old outfielder, ranked 65th on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, has shown more power of late, too, totaling four extra-base hits over his past four contests.

Pitcher to watch: Mike Soroka (Braves' No. 4), Mississippi vs. Mobile (8 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Soroka, MLBPipeline.com's No. 72 overall prospect, has been outstanding to begin the season despite making the jump to Double-A Mississippi directly from Class A Rome. The 19-year-old righty has won both of his starts for the M-Braves, allowing just one earned run on five hits with 14 strikeouts and zero walks over 11 2/3 innings.
