Dates and times of the NLCS are to be determined. The Cubs begin postseason play on Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL Division Series.
Fans can purchase NLCS tickets online at cubs.com, beginning at 10 a.m. CT Thursday. A virtual waiting room will be used for all Internet orders.
Tickets also can be purchased by telephone through Tickets.com, beginning at 10 a.m. CT. Illinois callers should call 1-800-THE-CUBS (1-800-843-2827). Out-of-state callers should call 1-866-652-2827. Tickets ordered via telephone will be delivered by three-day express mailing.
Tickets cannot be purchased at Wrigley Field or Tickets.com outlets.
Game time: Game 1 of the NL Division Series between the Cubs and Diamondbacks will start at 9:07 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Dick Stockton and former big league pitcher Ron Darling will handle the play-by-play on TBS. Cubs analyst Bob Brenly had been assigned to the Cubs, but was switched to the Yankees-Indians American League Division Series.
Game 2 of the NLDS will be played Thursday, also at Chase Field, and begin at 9:07 p.m. CT.
The Cubs will work out on Tuesday at Chase Field.
Numbers game: The Cubs finished the season with 43 home runs in September. They combined for 43 in June and July this year. The team now has hit more than 42 in a month six times in franchise history. The 2004 team slugged 48 homers in August that year. In August 1987 and June 1998, the Cubs totaled 47 homers. They hit 44 in May 2000, and 43 in May 1999.
Derrek Lee finished 11th in the National League with a .317 batting average, and Aramis Ramirez was 12th at .310. Alfonso Soriano was 19th at .299.
Soriano ended the regular season with 12 leadoff homers, a Cubs record. Rick Monday had the old mark of eight, set in 1976. Soriano is the first player in Major League history with two seasons of 10 or more leadoff homers, and holds the single-season record with 13 leadoff blasts set in 2003 with the New York Yankees.
Soriano has 44 career leadoff homers, and hit seven in September, a Major League record for the month. His 14 homers in September were the most by any Cub for the last month.

Extra bases: Sam Fuld and Sean Gallagher accompanied the Cubs on the flight to Phoenix on Sunday, but they will report to the Arizona Fall League and will not be with the big league team in the playoffs. Reliever Carmen Pignatiello also was sent home after Sunday's game. The Cubs do not have to finalize the playoff roster until Wednesday morning. ... Cubs pitchers finished the regular season with a Major League-leading 1,211 strikeouts. ... WGN Radio broadcaster Pat Hughes has a new book coming out on Cubs broadcaster Harry Caray that includes a CD of some of Caray's most memorable calls.
On deck: Carlos Zambrano (18-13) will start Game 1 of the best-of-five National League Division Series on Wednesday against Arizona and Brandon Webb (18-10). This will be Big Z's fourth postseason start.
The rest of the NLDS pitching matchups are: Ted Lilly (15-8) against Doug Davis (13-12) on Thursday in Game 2, and Rich Hill (11-8) against Livan Hernandez (11-11) in Game 3 at Wrigley Field on Saturday.
