There was a time when some peanuts and Cracker Jack would be enough to ensure that fans would show up to root, root, root for the home team, lost in the allure of the ballgame and the crowd; unconcerned if they'd ever get back. But the reality in today's entertainment universe is that teams must constantly up the ante when it comes to the stadium experience.
Yankee Stadium may still be in its first decade, but the team worked 'round the clock this past offseason to enhance the gameday experience for the millions of guests that will visit in 2017 and in years to come. New social gathering spaces -- including a children's zone -- and expanded concessions options will create a more welcoming, exciting and accessible experience, and the team will also be making more than 200,000 additional tickets available for the season priced at $15 or less.

"We have listened to our fans and ticketholders, and their top requests were for more family-friendly and socially oriented spaces at Yankee Stadium," said Yankees managing general partner/co-chairperson Hal Steinbrenner. "Yankees fans will now have many more dedicated areas for spending time with guests who have tickets in other sections of the Stadium, allowing all guests to be able to enjoy the game from multiple vantage points while having unique food and drink options available to them.
"We are also especially excited to provide an engaging children's play area for families to utilize prior to and throughout the game. Having these types of spaces in Yankee Stadium is fundamental to the expectations of our fans, and we look forward to making them a huge part of the Yankee Stadium experience in 2017 and beyond."
After months of construction, the team couldn't be more excited to welcome guests to the new and improved Yankee Stadium. As you bite into a delicious sandwich while watching your child enjoy a playground slide, take a look at some of the hard work that went into making these new spaces a reality.
