Miller reminisces: This year marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of Camden Yards, the Baltimore Orioles' popular ballpark.
Giants broadcaster Jon Miller, then the voice of the Orioles, vividly recalled the feeling of awe that proliferated when the ballclub and its traveling party toured the park shortly before the inaugural game. Miller recalled observers were particularly impressed by the B&O Warehouse overlooking right field.
"The warehouse just loomed and gave an intimacy to the ballpark and made it look so cool," Miller said. "It looked so impressive and massive next to the ballpark."
Miller admitted he wasn't fond of the warehouse initially.
"A lot of people, me included, wanted to blow that thing up, so you could see the harbor and the skyline," he said.
