As an extension of their partnership, the Tampa Bay Rays and iHeartMedia have launched "Bats N' Brews," a new, one-of-a-kind radio show that will air live during all 13 Rays home games on Friday nights at Tropicana Field. The program, which is hosted by iHeartMedia Tampa personalities Scotty Davis, Jay Recher and Molly Giduz, will debut this Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m. for the entirety of the Rays-Blue Jays game from the DraftKings Deck in center field at Tropicana Field. Listeners can tune in on "Throwback Tampa Bay," which can be found on 105.9 FM in Hillsborough County, 94.5 FM in Pinellas County and 99.1 FM in Pasco County.
"We are excited to partner with an industry leader to produce and present an alternative, interactive, fun, party-at-the-park atmosphere broadcast every Friday night," said Rays Chief Business Officer Jeff Cogen. "Coupled with a special $7.11 ticket and $5 beer, Tropicana Field will be Tampa Bay's Friday night place."
The program will focus on pop culture and music with an undertone of Rays baseball. Davis, Recher and Giduz will interact and interview fans from the DraftKings Deck and around Tropicana Field, maintaining a fun, party atmosphere throughout the evening while providing Rays game updates. The program will also regularly stream on Facebook Live to capture the atmosphere of the ballpark on Friday nights, as it airs in conjunction with the Rays new Friday night promotions, $7.11 Fridays with 7-Eleven and $5 draft beers on the Budweiser Porch. Fans can purchase 16-oz. Budweiser and Bud Light drafts for only $5 from the Budweiser Porch, located next to the DraftKings Deck, during all Rays Friday night home games.
Scotty Davis is the afternoon host for Tampa Bay's No. 1 hit music channel 93.3 FLZ, a position he's held for over five years. Prior to joining 93.3 FLZ, Scotty worked for RadioNOW 100.9 in Indianapolis as the morning host. He started his radio career at the age of 16, and has since been on the air for eight different radio programs throughout the country.
Jay Recher is a host and producer on WDAE 620 AM, the radio home of the Rays, and is the only field reporter to cover all three of Tampa Bay's sports franchises. A native of Long Island, N.Y., Jay has over 12 years of experience coaching youth baseball.
Molly Giduz brings her passions of social media, music, pop culture and baseball to the "Bats N' Brews" radio broadcast. "Miss Molly" recently moved to the Tampa Bay area after working in Washington, D.C., where she produced "The Bobby Bones Show" on 98.7 WMZQ and hosted her own radio program, "The Miss Molly Show." Molly is a graduate of Eckerd College and the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Tampa.
"We excited to partner with the Rays and create an entirely new kind of baseball listening experience for Rays fans," said iHeartMedia Tampa President Sam Nein. "This takes our partnership with the club to an exciting new level and allows iHeartMedia to deliver a totally new and exciting broadcast to the market."
