Team to watch
Third baseman Brian Anderson and left-hander Dillon Peters were among the top standouts in Miami's big league camp this spring, and both players seem poised for big things in 2017 as they begin the season back at Double-A Jacksonville. Also returning to Jacksonville is outfielder Austin Dean, who will look to bounce back after struggling last year in his first tour of the Southern League.

On the shelf
The Marlins will be without outfielder Isael Soto for the entire 2017 season after the 20-year-old outfielder suffered a fractured foot (which required surgery) while chasing down a fly ball in Minor League camp. 2014 first-rounder Tyler Kolek, now nearly a year removed from Tommy John surgery, will begin the season in extended spring camp before heading to a full-season affiliate. James Nelson (quad) also will be held back in extended spring camp as he continues to rehab a minor injury, and the same goes for hurlers Jeff Brigham (shoulder), Remey Reed and Brett Lilek.
