Right-hander Mark Prior, who signed with the Yankees as a free agent last December, appeared in his first game since straining his groin on Monday.
The Associated Press reported that Prior, who hadn't pitched since April 18, threw 24 pitches for the Gulf Coast Yankees, with his fastball reaching 90 mph.
Prior has not pitched in the Majors since 2006.
The Associated Press also reported that Yankees reliever Rafael Soriano threw 25 pitches during his second batting practice session. Soriano has been on the disabled list since May 17 with right elbow inflammation.
