Marlins announce Minor League field staffs for 2017

MIAMI -- The Marlins will have some continuity as well as some newcomers on their Minor League staffs. The organization on Friday announced its field staffs for the upcoming season, with Arnie Beyeler returning as the manager of Triple-A New Orleans.

Randy Ready will manage at Double-A Jacksonville, and Kevin Randel takes over as manager at Class A Advanced Jupiter. Todd Pratt and Mike Jacobs, a former Marlins first baseman, will each be managing for the first time. Pratt is at Class A Greensboro, and Jacobs is at Class A Short-Season Batavia.

The announcements were made by Marc DelPiano, the Marlins' vice president of player development.

Beyeler enters his second season at New Orleans. His coaching staff will include: pitching coach Scott Budner, hitting coach Kevin Witt, coach Robert Rodriguez, athletic trainer Greg Harrel and strength and conditioning coach Quentin Eberhardt.

Joining Ready's staff in Jacksonville will be: pitching coach Storm Davis, hitting coach Jesus Merchan, coach Angel Espada, athletic trainer Cesar Roman and strength and conditioning coach Robert Reichert.

Randel's coaching staff in Jupiter will be: pitching coach Jeremy Powell, hitting coach Rey Noriega, coach Jose Ceballos, athletic trainer Ben Cates and strength and conditioning coach Tyler Grisdale.

Pratt, 49, played from 1992-2006, primarily as a backup catcher with the Phillies and Mets. He also had some time with the Cubs and wrapped up his big league career with the Braves. In Greensboro, Pratt will be working with: pitching coach Mark DiFelice, hitting coach Frank Moore, coach Danny Black, athletic trainer Michael Bibbo and strength and conditioning coach Trevor Ging.

Jacobs, 36, was with the Marlins from 2006-08, and he belted 32 homers and drove in 93 runs in his final season with the organization. His staff will include: pitching coach Jason Erickson, hitting coach Rigoberto Silverio, coach TJ Gamba, athletic trainer Eric Reigelsberger and strength and conditioning coach Brady Fitzgerald.

Returning as field coordinator is Gary Cathcart.

The other Minor League coordinators are: Joe Dillon (hitting), Miguel Bonilla (pitching), Paul Philips (catching), Jorge Hernandez (infield), Brendan Sagara (assistant pitching), Brian Bobier (athletic training), Mark Brennan (strength and conditioning), Andrew Gilligan (rehab), Julio Bruno (Latin American field), Bobby Ramos (advisor, Latin America) and Chad Rhoades (rehab pitching coach).

The Marlins' Gulf Coast League entry will have: manager John Pachot, pitching coach Manny Olivera, hitting coach Danny Santin, coach Dominick Ambrosini, athletic arainer Patrick Amorelli and strength and conditioning coach Ian Kadish.

The coaching staff for the Marlins' DSL team will be: manager Ray Nunez, pitching coaches Jose Duran and Alvin Alcantara, hitting coach Rony Peralta, coaches Rafael Morla and Miguel Fermin, athletic trainers Frank Ovalles and Ramon Asencio and strength and conditioning coach Ruben Romero.
