Mets announce scouting promotions

The New York Mets today announced the following promotions in the scouting department.

Tommy Tanous was promoted to Vice President, International and Amateur Scouting; Marc Tramuta was promoted to Director, Amateur Scouting; Doug Thurman was promoted to National Crosschecker and Drew Toussaint was promoted to Regional Supervisor.

Tanous has served as the Mets Senior Director, Amateur Scouting since November, 2011. He was a Special Assignment scout for the Mets in 2011. Before joining the Mets, he spent six years as the Blue Jays National Crosschecker.

Tramuta joined the Mets as the Assistant Scouting Director in November, 2012 after working for Toronto in various scouting capacities, including National Crosschecker from 2003-2012.

Thurman had been the Mets West Coast Supervisor since 2012 and worked from 2008-2011 as an area scout for the Mets covering Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii.

Toussaint joined the Mets as a part-time scout in 2012 before rising to an area scout covering Los Angeles from 2013-2016. Toussaint played in the Angels minor league system from 2004-2008.
