The New York Mets today announced that the club will open its 2017 Spring Training Grapefruit League schedule on Friday, February 24 vs. the American League East champion Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers, FL. The Mets first home game in Grapefruit League play will be at 1:10 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 vs. the Washington Nationals in Port St. Lucie, FL. The Mets will play 35 exhibition games in 2017, including 18 home games in Port St. Lucie.
Season, group tickets and special ticket packages including the Red Sox trip to Port. St. Lucie will go on sale Tuesday, November 29 at 10 a.m. online and at 772-871-2115. After opening Grapefruit League play against the Red Sox in Fort Myers, the Red Sox will visit Port St. Lucie, FL at 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8.
Overall, manager Terry Collins' squad will play eight games vs. the Marlins, seven against the Astros, five apiece vs. the Nationals and Cardinals, four each with the Braves and Tigers and the two games against the Red Sox.
