Former big leaguer Alex Cora will interview for the D-backs' vacant managerial position next week, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
Cora, a current ESPN analyst, has close ties to new Arizona general manager Mike Hazen, who was hired from Boston earlier this month. Cora interviewed for vacant manager positions last offseason in Miami, San Diego and Washington.
The 41-year-old Cora played 14 seasons in MLB with six clubs, spending half of his career with the Dodgers.
Heyman added that Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo, who also has ties with Hazen, could be another candidate for the D-backs' job.
