The customized programs will be printed every year from here out, and are an easy way to chronicle a team's All-Star history, vice president of publishing Don Hintze said.
"It will be great to collect these programs. It's just a great way of honoring the individual teams and their star players," Hintze said. "We really wanted to bring the All-Star Game to each market, and it's a lot of fun to have your star player on the cover."
Each program will contain more than 250 pages of photos and original editorial content. Most notable will be a section on San Francisco baseball, a section highlighting the history of the Home Run Derby and a feature on the best baserunners in baseball, all written by the best.
Contributing writers include nationally syndicated columnist George Will, Kansas City Star columnist Joe Posnanski, senior MLB columnist Ken Rosenthal (FoxSports.com) and national baseball writers Jayson Stark and Jerry Crasnick, both from ESPN.com.
The customized programs will be printed in limited quantities and sold at Team Shops and Modell's Sporting Goods. If you want a specific team cover, but don't live by that particular Team Shop, the best bet is the MLB.com Shop.
